The Lakehouse papers

Here are a couple of cards I made with the awesome "Lakehouse" papers.  We won't be doing these in the Lakehouse card class, but I will be doing 3 similar cards for it!

Class Input? New Product!

Ladies,

We are appealing to our awesome customers for new class ideas.   Do you have a class you've always hoped we would offer?  If so, what?  Please either comment here on the blog, or e-mail us and advise!

New Product:
Spectrum Noir alcohol markers are back in!  Hurry, hurry, hurry, before they all sell out!  We have absolutely ALL of the markers, plus the zippered storage cases, special paper to stamp on, replacement nibs, dvd's, etc.  LOVE them!

The Lakehouse papers are now in.  Gorgeous floral w/pillars, fountains, matching wooden embellishments and stamps!  SO pretty!  Also in, the "Girlfriends" stamp that we used to color with the Spectrum Noir markers is back in.  Only 2 left, so come in if you'd like one!  The "Trousseau" vintage line is uber cute, and so is the "Ladies Diary" by Graphic 45.  Come on in and check them out!

July Class Calendar

Mon. - July 2 - Last day of our Secondhand Rummage Sale!  We will pack up what's left after close of business today.  Hurry in to $ave, $ave, $ave!  (If you have things in the rummage sale, please drop by this week - July 3 - July 7 - to pick up your unsold items.  Thank you!)



Weds. - July 4 - Store closed for holiday.  Have a safe and Happy 4th, Everyone!!!

Tues. - July 10 - Coloring with alcohol markers - 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. - $10

No need to bring anything but yourself!  We are offering this class again for those that missed it the first time and requested we have it again!  We will be using the AWESOME Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  We will blend, shade, and shadow with them.  FUN!  Also, if you buy any of the markers after the class, you will get 15% off!!!  Remember, these alcohol markers are only $2 each!  The Copics run $7 each!



Fri. - July 20 - PJ Crop - 5 p.m. - Midnight - $5 plus a snack to share

Bring your stuff to work on and come and join us for a fun night of cropping!  If you want to leave your stuff overnight and come back the next day for the 15 hour crop, that will work, too!  Call to reserve your spot.

Sat. - July 21 - FIFTEEN HOUR Crop!!!  9 a.m. - 12 Midnight!  $25

We will feed you a continental breakfast, a nice lunch, supper, and snacks!  Water or Coke provided.  
Come join us for a FUN day of scrapping!  You will be able to use the store Cricut, Grand Calibur, punches, etc.  Let's get those pages DONE!

Mon. - July 23 -  Christmas in July Card Class - 6 - 8 p.m. - $20

Get a jump on your Christmas cards for this year.  It'll be here faster than you think!  These lovely cards can be duplicated for sending out in December, OR, you can give the set of four cards as a gift!  Bring your workshop kits.  Must pre-pay to sign up.

Tues. - July 31 - "Lakehouse" Card Class - 6 - 8 p.m. - $20

Rummage Sale still in full swing!

There's still tons of rummage $ale scrapbooking items in our crop room.  It is literally flying out the door!  These ladies have priced these items to SELL!  There are still FOUR Disney album kits, complete with albums, papers, stickers, etc.  These retail for $25.  They are marked at, are you sitting down?....only $6 each!  There are tons of papers, page kits, embellishments, storage solutions, albums, chipboard, a Cricut Create, Cricut cartridges, blades, and mats, and even embroidery floss!  Come in and check it all out!

GiNormous Secondhand Scrapbook $ale!!!/New Product

"As I've Aged"

Ladies,

Several of you asked for a copy of the poem that Pat Bristow had scrapbooked (rather elegantly, I must say!) into the white frame we have had  on display in the store.  Pat abbreviated it a bit for her purposes, but here is a copy of the entire writing.

As

I've aged, I've

become kinder to myself, and

less critical of

myself. I've become my own friend.

I have seen too

many dear friends leave this world too

soon;

before they understood

the great freedom that comes with aging.

Whose business is it if

I choose to read or play on the

computer until 4

AM or sleep until noon? I will dance

with

myself to those wonderful tunes of the

60s &

70's, and if I, at the same time, wish

to weep over a lost love

..

I will.

I

will walk the beach

in a swimsuit that is

stretched over a

bulging body, and will dive

into the waves with

abandon if I choose to,

despite the pitying

glances from the jet set.

They, too, will get old. I

know I am sometimes

forgetful. But there

again, some of life

is just as well

forgotten. And I

eventually remember the important things.

Sure, over the years my heart has been broken. How can your heart not

break when you lose a loved one, or

when a

child suffers, or even when somebody's

beloved pet gets hit by a car? But broken hearts

are what give us strength and

understanding and compassion.

A heart never broken is

pristine and sterile

and will never know the joy of being imperfect.

I

am so blessed to have

lived long enough to have

my hair turn gray,

and to have my youthful

laughs be forever

etched into deep grooves on my face.

So

many have never

laughed, and so many have died

before their hair

could turn silver.

As

you get older, it is

easier to be

positive. You care

less about what other

people think. I don't

question myself

anymore. I've even

earned the right to be wrong.

So, to answer your

question, I like being old. It has set me free.

I like the person I have

become. I am not

going to live forever, but while I am

still

here, I will not waste time lamenting

what could

have been, or worrying about what will

be.

And I shall eat dessert

every single day  (if I feel like it).

AWESOME Secondhand Rummage Sale #2!!!!

Ladies,

I am SO totally excited!!!  Three big-time scrapping and card-making ladies (one used to own a scrapbooking STORE) came into the store today from Decatur.  They saw I was having a Secondhand Scrapbook Sale, and were saying they had enough product between the three of them to FILL ALL TWELVE tables in the back room, PLUS some!!!  They are going to bring everything in so I can have it put out by Monday, 6/18!  I can't WAIT!  One lady has an Escalade FULL of stuff!  The other two have a ton as well!  We will have papers, embellishments, kits, Disney albums, tools, stamps, inks, etc.!  ALL AT RUMMAGE SALE PRICES!  Hope to see you during these two weeks for some fantastic savings!!!!  Sale will run Monday, 6/18 - ????
